I was furious (of course, I didn't say anything to her, just ranted to my mother). I don't mind the spine being cracked because some books are just to hard to hold otherwise, but not the pages. Have some respect.

I've recently bought an eReader and I was surprised at myself when the thought of not being able to share books, ones that I really loved reading, made me a little sad.annelisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02758397701111620142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727653.post-64955387447239440292010-10-25T21:18:00.271+13:002010-10-25T21:18:00.271+13:00Good training idea, Nathan. But I am very anal about the whole process, especially the state of the spine when it gets back and God help anyone who dog-ears ... most of my friends have learnt it's best not to ask and that's the way I like it!Nathan Luffhttp://www.nathanluff.com.aunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727653.post-68164894853894432222010-10-25T11:17:11.930+13:002010-10-25T11:17:11.930+13:00I used to lend out books but I lost too many when ...I used to lend out books but I lost too many when they weren't returned
Some I bought again, lent out and lost the second copy.
Some books weren't possible to replace.

The few books that DID get returned were often damaged - torn pages and covers.

I no longer lend out my books.

TimOnesimushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11413061573637313957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727653.post-85385348184446958452010-10-25T09:08:38.263+13:002010-10-25T09:08:38.263+13:00I agree, Anne - I'm always the one with librar...I agree, Anne - I'm always the one with library fines so I know I couldn't do the two weeks! The idea for a Kindle two-week lending period is not a good one. Very few of us can organize our time so exactly that we get a borrowed book read in two weeks.Anne E.
